Speaking

For an experienced thinker, the constraint was never the thinking. It was the build. AI removed that wall, so the work that decides the outcome is the judgment behind what gets built. I speak about what a career of that judgment is worth now that the building is cheap.

The idea I speak about

For thirty years, the hard part for an experienced thinker was never the thinking. It was the build.

The ideas and the problem-solving were the easy part. What stood between a big idea and a shipped thing was everything downstream: the prototype, the product, the website. Building it meant hiring people or firms, and often it did not happen. The idea stayed an idea.

That wall is gone. I relaunched Triente this spring and now take a concept to a deployed product in months, alone, with no team to manage and no approval chain to clear.

What that does not change is the thinking. The tools amplify whatever judgment is already there. Give them to someone without experience and you get more noise. Give them to someone with thirty years of pattern recognition and you get work that holds up. The build collapsed. The judgment behind it did not, and that is what decides the result.

I speak about what that means for the cohort I belong to. Experienced leaders with a backlog of ideas and no wish to go back to corporate, who now have a way to turn what they know into something real.

Flagship talk

Manufacturing Eminence: How AI Collapses the Reputation Timeline.

A recognized point of view, published thinking, being the name people call, has always been the engine of an expert career. It used to take a decade to build. It does not anymore.

For someone with thirty years of judgment, the distance from a head full of ideas to a recognized authority now runs in months. The same compression that rewards that judgment exposes its absence, which is the part most people skip.

The talk makes the case through a live example in progress: a years-old question about how to read the world clearly, carried to a public measure and a growing presence by one person.

Proof, not theory

I do not talk about this from the outside. I am the case study, in real time.

Take The U.S. Sentiment Signal. The country already has many measures of national well-being, and each carries a built-in bias, so they disagree. I had wondered for years whether the existing data could be synthesized into one cleaner, less biased measure. The data was there. The work was putting it together.

So I built it. The synthesis took judgment about what to include and how to weight it so the result holds up. No tool makes those choices. Building it was the cheap part. Idea to a live, public measure of national well-being, by one person, on a timeline that did not exist a few years ago.
